About Me

Hello! Thank you for your interest in learning more about me! This page is dedicated to sharing a bit of my background so that you may get to know me better!

Based in NYC, I have been immersed in the healing arts for over 3 decades. The wisdom keepers I have been so blessed to receive teachings from have all helped to shape the person  I am today.  With humility, I embrace every lesson I have learned along the way, as each has inspired and helped craft the offerings  I am now able to bring to you!

My body mind awareness practices began when I was first introduced to massage therapy as a healing modality to help re-establish a healthier relationship with my body while recovering from an eating disorder in my teens. As that recovery continued, I pursued my BFA degree in Theatre Performance from SMU and studied acting, characterization, vocal therapies, Alexander body alignment, Tai Chi and other body oriented techniques alongside liberal arts courses in Buddhism, Native American mythology, and autobiographical creative writing.

With a desire to help people heal after the events of 9/11, I continued my education at NYC’s Swedish Institute receiving an Associates Degree in Occupational studies in Massage Therapy with Eastern 5 element theory and Western Clinical Pathology as the foundation of my training. I became American board certified and NY State licensed and began practice working with performers of all backgrounds. I went on to add several specialties in trauma informed work, elder and hospice care for the terminally ill, as well as several advanced certifications in physical/emotional massage support during prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum stages, and Infant Massage education.

Buddhist meditative, spiritual, and nature practices have also been a deep part of my personal journey in the last 30 years and became even more prominent while recovering from a sudden severe spinal injury and paralysis in 2016. At this point, a major shift in my career took place when meditation became the most effective medication for pain management and mental stability during the two year process of learning to walk again.  With each new step, I chose to expand and deepen my daily mindful practices and tune in to inner guidance for my healing.  This deepening provided an opportunity to truly experience the direct power of the mind body connection and feel, first hand, how integrative modalities coupled with a reframed mindset ,body awareness, and self care play an essential role in one’s healing process.

Once able to walk, I decided to travel globally and merge my bodywork background with Eastern mindset and somatic training programs. I went on to receive certifications in Mindfulness Nature Forest Therapy (Cultured Forest School), Kind Awareness Healing With Insight Meditation training and fully immersed in Vipassana and Vedic studies at ashrams, monasteries, and meditation centers throughout Thailand and India.

I chose to train in the coaching field through curriculums that interwove Vedic and Positive Psychology concepts with inquiry rooted support and guidance. Through the Happiitude Academy of India and California’s Berkeley Well Being Institute, I became certified in Happiness Coaching, NavRasa Sadhana Emotional Balancing, and the Shunyata Breathwork Meditation system.  I found these unique trainings truly danced well with my bodywork education and the combination provided a solid springboard to create and offer modalities that have a well rounded holistic Vedic and somatic approach to wellness. I then added training in Somatic Intuition and certification in Tibetan Sound Bowl Vibrational Massage Therapy, and have combined these techniques with breathwork, vocal toning and sound baths as an additional modality for stress management and deep relaxation.

I furthered my knowledge of nourishment through deeper exposure to Ayurvedic studies and culinary trainings of the East. I learned to embrace and imbue mindful eating and food preparation as an act of self love, transforming a once destructive relationship, into a medicinal spiritual practice. My road to reverence in the culinary arts was one of passion, creativity, and community and has guided my service now to be in warm expression of healing, reciprocity, and gratitude for Mother Earth. This conscious approach continues to happily lead to work in a wide variety of venues such as ashrams, sailboats, private retreats, dinner parties, spiritual community gatherings and beyond.

I believe the path to inner discovery and healing never ends and that a multi-disciplined approach offers new wisdom to continually be shared and integrated with wonder and joy. Thank you again for your interest, I look forward to embarking upon a journey together in this discovery, wherever it may lead us in light!
